Convention centres are the flagships of top cities around the world. Iconic convention centres are the face of cities.

To date, the government allowed nationwide interstate travel, but Business Events industry in Malaysia is still in a dire crisis. With the continued CMCO and the inability for Business Events to re-open entirely, Malaysia’s convention centres stay closed and unable to continue further down the road with no income but relentless financial bleed throughout the year 2020.

If convention centres continue down this inevitable path of loss, it will be left with no choice but to close, and when that happens, the whole eco-system of the Business Events industry will perish, and the world will be watching.

Therefore, MACEOS initiated an industry campaign named #saveourconventioncentres – targeted launch date: 15 December 2020, harnessing the POWER OF BUSINESS EVENTS to reconnect a resilient supply chain and rebuild Malaysia’s economy; and to reassure both public and private sectors that business events will be held safely according to the government health protocols with a comprehensive SOPs which was approved by MKN for safe meetings and events to take place during the pandemic.
