Do you have a great idea or something you've wanted to try in your classroom and just need the funding? We would love for you to apply for a grant from the FCEPTA (not to exceed $500) to enhance your current teaching environment. We hope to encourage your talent, creativity, and originality in the classroom through our grants! If your grant is greater than $500, you should contact the Falls Church Education Foundation.
Eligibility:
All FCCPS preschool through 5th grade teachers (full time, part-time, paraprofessional, specialist) who are FCEPTA members are eligible to apply.
The FCEPTA Grant Committee, consisting of the Executive Board and Teacher Liaisons, will evaluate applications on the basis of merit with consideration for equitable distribution across grades, number of students reached, and available funds.
Guidelines:
+ Projects must be innovative, creative, and enhance the SOL and/or PYP curriculum.
+ Projects should be as collaborative, whether across grade levels or across a subject area, as possible.
+ Grants cannot be used for staff compensation or recurring costs but can be used to offset costs of specific conferences or workshops.
+ While repeat applicants are encouraged to apply, new applicants will be given priority when funding is limited.
Application Process:
1. Complete this application form and submit.
2. The FCEPTA will then notify your Principal of your application.
3. Your Principal will then approve, or comment on, advancing your application.
4. The FCEPTA Grant Committee will then review and either approve, or comment on, your application.
5. If approved, you will be asked to submit receipts for reimbursement.
6. If approved, you will also be asked to provide feedback to FCEPTA Secretary to highlight the work via FCEPTA communication - FCEPTA newsletter, social media, etc.
Deadline for Application:
All applications for the fall cycle must be received by Monday, November 1, 2021. Awards will be announced by Monday, November 15, 2021.
NOTE: We plan to conduct another round of teacher grants around February / March.
