The People's Pantry: Sister Initiative - Food Delivery Request
The COVID-19 crisis has left many in our community struggling to access food as we are faced with mass unemployment and loss of income, excessive hoarding at grocery stores, reduced transportation options, and more. Particularly hard-hit communities include, but are not limited to, low-income and working-class families, QTBIPOC (Queer, Trans*, Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour), single parents, sex workers, those living in precarious housing situations, those living with underlying medical conditions, those with disabilities, newly-arrived immigrants, and the elderly.

In response to the pandemic, The People's Pantry is a grassroots initiative providing home-cooked meals and grocery bundles to individuals and families across the GTA who have been disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 crisis. We serve those who are struggling financially or are otherwise unable to provide sufficient food for themselves and their family. Meals and groceries will be delivered right to their door, 100% free of charge, no questions asked, no fixed address required.

NOTE: This request form is for our sister initiative, which covers Oakville, Burlington, Milton, and Hamilton, and also Guelph, Kitchener, and Mississauga *when possible*. If you are requesting food for Toronto, please use our website: https://www.thepeoplespantryto.com/. The People's Pantry currently cannot deliver to Brampton.

If you have already submitted a request and you want to submit a second one for the same recipient, please wait until the recipient has gotten their groceries or cooked meals. If not, the request will be marked as repeated and deleted from our list. We will communicate with you to let you know if there are any delays with your request. Please make your request by Thursday at 9:00am to receive the request that week. Thanks!

Please note, Hamilton requests are delivered every Sunday, while Halton requests are delivered on Saturday or Monday. Guelph//Kitchener requests are delivered on a rolling basis, depending on the delivery driver's schedule. Mississauga requests, when fillable, are currently on Saturday (but are never guaranteed, as they are beyond our catchment area). Please make your request by *Thursday at 9:00am to receive the request that week.* The sister initiative has a capacity of 10 deliveries for Hamilton, 5 for Milton/Oakville, 5 for Burlington, and 5 for Guelph/Kitchener per week. All requests made after we hit capacity, will be moved to the following week. We will let you know if your request is backlogged.
