Are you curious about finding a career in troubleshooting computer hardware and software? Do you want to learn more about cybersecurity or computer networking? Do you want to earn college credit while in high school, including having access to internships, career fair opportunities, and local industry leaders?
The Santa Cruz County Office of Education, in partnership with Santa Cruz City Schools (SCCS), San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District (SLVUSD), Scotts Valley Unified School District (SVUSD), and Cabrillo College, is now offering students two career pathways in the Information, Technology and Communication (ICT) sector within the Cybersecurity/Networking and Information Support Services industries.
Students who participate in this two-year program will start with the year-long Introductory IT Essentials course. Students will have the opportunity to move forward the following year in either the Cybersecurity/Networking and Information Support Services pathways. In addition, these courses are aligned with Cabrillo College courses to provide students the opportunity for both high school and college credit simultaneously!
Both career pathways will build expertise in these growing technology fields through hands-on class activities, provide access to guest speakers and career panels, as well as technical certifications and opportunities for local internships.
