If you are comfortable, you may write about your loved one’s diagnosis, their treatment, and how you felt during this time/how you coped with it. Always keep in mind that a short, heartfelt message is worth so much more than something drawn-out. If you can only put your heart into three paragraphs, so be it!
Sharing your story is as simple as 1, 2, and 3.
1. Write your submission. 2. Complete the following questionnaire, filling in as much of the information as you are comfortable with. 3. Submit!
It will take a few days for your story to appear on the STLO Project's page, as editing staff may need to revise/alter it for clarity -- or your safety, which the STLO Project takes very seriously. Once your page on the site has been created, however, congrats! You are now part of something one-of-a-kind, and we thank you for being courageous. From now on, you will be the "shoulder to lean on" of someone you may have never even met.
If you are able, scan the finished document and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org along with your photo (the photo does not need to be scanned). If you are unable to scan the document, feel free to take a picture (making sure it's readable) and send it to the same email. While we cannot post your photo without your permission, we will do everything in our ability to make this possible for you.
