2017 NIA Compensation Survey
The goal of this survey is to gather industry-wide data on the wages offered in outdoor education and guiding. We are interested in the wages paid by other organizations for the jobs that NOLS faculty are typically able to get.

Please take the survey once for every job outside of NOLS that you have either held or been offered (this does not include jobs that you think you could get, but haven't tried for). If you have held or been offered multiple outdoor jobs, fill out the survey multiple times. Please do not include any jobs from other fields (ski patrolling, classroom education, luxury dog-walking, etc.).

Some questions are quantitative; please do your best to remember specific numbers, but feel free to approximate if you do not have specifics available. Other questions are qualitative; please do your best to approximate.

Thanks for your time and for helping the NIA better understand the job market available to NOLS faculty. Keep in mind that the goal of the survey is to gather as much data as possible to accurately represent the job market - please report jobs paying less than NOLS, as well as those paying more, and please do not artificially inflate your responses.

Those who complete the survey can enter a drawing to win a $100 Patagonia gift card, compliments of the NIA. Email NIAsurvey@gmail.com to enter. Drawing will be in early 2018.
