This camp is designed for all levels, but campers must be prepared for long & intensive rehearsals and are required to participate in all aspects of theater. Roles for the musical are assigned during camp, and no refunds will be offered for any reason. No before & after care will be provided. Kids can be dropped off no earlier than 8:30am and picked up no later than 5:30pm. Campers will be costuming themselves and providing their own makeup (costume guidance will be provided). Campers must also bring their own lunch.

About the Show:

This summer, our Cats performances will take place on the mainstage and utilize the same set, props and lighting as our mainstage show of Cats so that campers can get the full performance experience. Campers will put on matinee performances before our evening showings with the adult cast, and will also receive their own Thursday night showing.

CATS is set amongst a larger-than-life junkyard playground and is alive with purr-fect felines, including Rum Tum Tugger, Mr. Mistoffelees, Macavity, Jennyanydots, Old Deuteronomy, Skimbleshanks and Grizabella. The Jellicle Cats come out to play on one special night of the year—the night of the Jellicle Ball. One by one, they tell their stories for the amusement of Old Deuteronomy, their wise and benevolent leader, who must choose one of the Cats to ascend to The Heaviside Layer and be reborn into a whole new Jellicle life.

Scholarship Application (Optional)
Harbor Playhouse is committed to making theatre accessible to everyone in the community while also recognizing top talent in South Texas. Through generous donations, there are a limited number of partial scholarships to offer students. Scholarships will range from $200 to $600 and will be awarded for both financial need and/or talent. Our staff will consider the singing video submission, essays, and financial documents. Total camp cost is $800.
Please keep in mind that scholarships are limited. If you can afford a payment plan, we highly recommend signing up to guarantee a slot in camp. The earlier you sign up for a payment plan, the cheaper the payments are. Call Harbor Playhouse for more information.

If not seeking a scholarship, please proceed to certification agreement and submit your application.
Please explain in 1000 characters or less why Harbor Playhouse should consider you for a scholarship. Scholarships are limited, so please be as detailed as possible.
To be considered for a scholarship, you must provide proof of qualification of SNAP Benefits or email last year's tax return.   (This is required of all scholarship applicants).  Proof of qualifications or tax return must be emailed to julie@harborplayhouse.com.  Scholarship applications submitted without this will not be considered.
