2019 Chicago Palestine Film Festival - Amateur Film Contest Submission Form
We are excited to announce Chicago Palestine Film Festival's inaugural Amateur Film Contest! Individuals will submit a film (max 5 minutes, narrative or documentary) made on their phones and with no budget about “What Palestine Means to Me”. The top three of these films will be shown at the 2019 Festival, and the #1 winner will receive a cash prize of $500 and a one-on-one film workshop led by filmmaker Colette Ghunim (www.coletteghunim.com).

The deadline to submit is at 11:59PM CST on February 28, 2019.

Eligibility:
-The film has to be about Palestine
-Filmmakers do not have to be of Palestinian descent
-Film has to be shot on smart phone or similar camera, must be shot horizontally
-Filmmaker never screened any film at a film festival
-Filmmaker is allowed to edit the film using computer software

Theme: “What Palestine Means to Me”
This theme is overarching to include whatever the filmmaker envisions. To provide a place to start brainstorming, the filmmaker can incorporate one or more of the following topics if desired:

1. Right of Return
2. Imagining Palestine after liberation
3. A Palestine without walls
5. Palestinians in the Diaspora - A home is more than a house
6. How you incorporate Palestine/Palestinian culture in your life
