2019 Student Energy Summit Registration
DATE(s): November 10-11, 2019 (Sunday and Monday, Veteran's Day)

TIME: Check-in at 7:45am, Program begins at 9:00am (9:00am-4:00pm daily)

ISLAND: Oahu (Hawaii Convention Center)

Who is eligible? All public and private middle school to high school students (6th-12th)


Every student is asked to enter as a team of 5-6 students based on their grade level. You can combine students within middle (6th-8th) or high (9th-12th) to form a team. During the summit, you will be tasked with solving Hawaii's most challenging energy issues as a team. Each school can register up to 2 or 3 teams and must have a traveling teacher, advisor, and/or adult chaperone.

Similar to last year, each team will be asked to organize a fundraising activity leading up to the summit. In any community-based programs, the task to raise funds to achieve and plan effective programs becomes absolutely crucial. Your task as a team is to set a goal of any amount and try to work as a team to hit your goal before arriving to this year's Student Energy Summit. You can raise funds in your own community for your travel expenses, pay for a team T-shirt, crowd-fund for a post-summit program and/or simply donate the funds to Blue Planet Foundation who will implement equally meaningful programs in Hawaii. Prizes will be given to some of the creative ideas planned by each team. More details about the fundraising criteria will be available once you sign up!

MEALS: Light breakfast and lunch will be included for all participants.

AIR and GROUND TRAVEL STIPEND: Based on first-come, first-serve. Airfare to/from neighbor island, shuttle service between summit venue, hotel and Honolulu Airport will be covered thanks to the generous support of our sponsors. Travel Stipend is primarily designated for students to maximize attendance. However, it will be made available for 1 chaperone per team (if needed)

LODGING: Based on first-come, first serve. Rooms will be prepared at Ala Moana Hotel. Please submit your travel authorization form that will allot rooms and air for your team.
