Outdoor Odyssey Expectations and Policies (THE FINE PRINT)
Please Read ALL the following information extra carefully! Please ask if you have any questions at all, no matter how dumb you may think they are. The devil is in the detail!!
Expectations
There are associated expenses related to Odyssey which are not included in the trip cost, most notably (but not limited to) health insurance and proper equipment. Cornell-approved, domestic (or COE-approved international), comprehensive health insurance is required for each participant for the duration of the trip (as well as attending Cornell). Please make sure you are covered for the dates of your trip. Also, please note that Cornell's Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) does not always cover the entire duration of all of Odyssey's trips. In this case, one additional week of coverage must be purchased from SHIP in order to participate. This cost was $165 in 2014 and subject to change in 2017. Additionally, some equipment (or "gear") required for every trip, such as well broken in hiking boots, cannot be rented from COE. Please see the respective equipment lists for the trips you have preferenced and compare those lists to the Equipment Rental Contract (which can be found under the "Forms" page on Odyssey's Website). Any gear on your trip's equipment list is expected for you to have upon your arrival in Ithaca, save for rented gear. Any equipment that is unavailable to rent must provided by you.

Cancellation Policy
Please read carefully. The deadline to cancel your registration for any trip is dependent upon your registration date. Those wishing to cancel their registrations may contact the Odyssey Coordinators at odyssey@cornell.edu, or by calling (607)-255-4168. The cancellation policy is necessary because the Outdoor Odyssey program begins to accumulate trip-related expenses shortly after the registration process. Participants who cancel their registration on or before May 31, 2017 may cancel without incurring a fee. Participants who choose to cancel their registration between June 1, 2017 and July 15, 2017 will be charged $50 administrative fee on their Bursar Account. Participants who cancel on or after July 15, 2017 will be charged 50% of the price of their assigned trip on their Bursar Account. Cancellations within a week of the start date of the trip will result in a fee equal to the full price of their assigned trip.

Photo and Media Release
I do hereby give Outdoor Odyssey the right to use my name, photograph, story and video/audio to be used in any number of marketing and communication purposes for the promotion of Outdoor Odyssey. This may include, but is not limited to, web features, promotional posters, half cards and newspaper articles.
