On-Bike Education Program Application Form (2025-26 School Year)

Bike SLO County (BSLOC) has provided quality cycling education to elementary school children throughout San Luis Obispo County for over a decade through our certified Safe Routes to School and Bike Rodeo programs. We work hand in hand with PE teachers to teach kids how to bike safely and competently, while modeling a great way to embed physical fitness into everyday life. Our program targets 4th and 5th graders offering 3 hours of instruction per class, and 3-5 educators on hand to assist depending on student census. We instruct students with substantive cycling safety education, starting with the basics, to provide students the ability to: safely stop and start; use hand signals to safely navigate the road; and competently ride in real-world scenarios. We recognize that not every student has access to a bicycle. Bike SLO County brings our own fleet of 30 bicycles and helmets to your school. This ensures that all students have equal access to this educational and fun opportunity. We are delighted to offer this program for the 2025/26 school year, and look forward to working with your school. Please fill out this short form to apply for our program.

If you have any questions about any of this, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Please indicate below whether your school meets Title 1 requirements/interest in self-funded options:

do you have a preference between fall and spring programming? *
