Join us as we break bread & talk story with PI community leaders, Peter Bosip & Ponipate Rokolekutu!

Mr. Peter Bosip is of Papua New Guinean descent. He is a conservationist, lawyer, and renowned human rights leader who has dedicated over 18 years of his career to biodiversity conservation efforts in his country. Peter’s professional experience spans from working with both local and international NGO conservation organizations whose operations extend into rural communities.

Professor Ponipate Rasese Rokolekutu is of Fijian descent. He is a professor at SFSU in Critical Pacific Islands and Oceania Studies.. He has a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. His research focuses on the relationships between colonialism and land alienation and the subsequent marginalization of indigenous peoples.
