House of Pancakes Reptile Rescue Inc. understands life happens and we commend you for making your animals needs and well-being a priority. We understand surrendering an animal is not easy. We do our best to accommodate surrenders however please understand we have limited space and you may be put on a wait list.
***Please be forthcoming about any health or environmental issues such as lack of heat, lighting, or inability to provide food or other basic necessities. We will prioritize emergency and medical cases, always.***
There is a $40 surrender fee required per animal at time of surrender. This helps offset the cost of vet care and other consumables.
Surrenders must be dropped off in Poughkeepsie, NY or shipped FedEx Priority Overnight (weather-permitting) at the surrendering party’s expense. We can provide guidance for shipping.
If animals are surrendered with belongings those belongings become the property of House of Pancakes Reptile Rescue Inc. These items are always offered first to their future family. If they already have equivalent (or better), these items will then be used for foster homes or offered with other adoptions.
By surrendering an animal you understand you are relinquishing ownership and agree you will have no say in medical treatment, euthanasia/disposal, or eventual rehoming of that animal. Surrendering families are not eligible to adopt their animal back.
