Dear Senior Administration at The New School,

For four years, SENS-UAW has been fighting for a contract that reflects the value we contribute to The New School and provides the protections, procedures, fair compensation, and benefits which we deserve as student workers. 99.6% of our membership voted in favor of unionization in May 2017. After a year and a half and over fifty bargaining sessions, the university refuses to offer adequate compensation which will benefit the whole membership.

We refuse to let the administration delay us any longer by offering such low numbers in their economic increases. If the administration continues to put forward economics which are not comparable to other academic student workers and do not reflect our value as workers, the SENS Bargaining Committee will call a strike, with 99.4% authorization from the membership. The New School has fought us every step - and when we fight back, we win.

I will join my SENS-UAW coworkers in striking for a strong contract which guarantees protections and benefits we deserve as student workers.
