Terms: The gallery will be open for regular
business hours for the sale and display of the guest artist’s work. The cost to
visit will be $50 per month, plus 20% of goods sold to be collected by SRA. All
sales will be processed through the Finance Committee, and a check will be
mailed to the guest artist at the end of each month. The monthly fee and the
percentage of goods sold will be deducted from the guest artist’s payment. SRA
is responsible for collecting and paying Massachusetts Sales Tax from the sale
of goods from the guest artist. SRA is not responsible for lost or damaged art.
Gallery Assistance: A designated representative from the
gallery will assist the guest artist with display needs, monitoring inventory
in the gallery, and any other questions. The guest artist is responsible for
re-stocking inventory throughout the guest artist period, at the request of the
gallery representative.
Display: An agreed upon designated space will
be provided in the gallery, with spotlights. The guest artist is responsible
for displaying the work in a professional manner with appropriate materials for
display. Guest artists must supply their own hanging hooks, display stands for
shelf work, containers for any printed works, and any specialty shelving
specific to the work. The gallery representative will assist the guest artist
if additional shelving is needed and available, as the gallery has a small
selection of display items to borrow.
Set Up & Removal: Work will be set up on the Wednesday
closest to the beginning of the display period, and removed on the last Tuesday
of the display period. All items will be entered into the Square, under Guest
Artist, by the gallery representative. Barcodes are to be placed on each shelf
item or on the back of title labels for wall pieces.
Advertising: SRA will advertise the event though
newsletter, website and social media.
Reception: The gallery representative will work
with the guest artist to schedule an optional reception, preferably on a
Saturday from 1-4pm at any point during the display period. Guest artist to be
responsible for providing any optional snacks or beverages (seltzers, coffee,
etc) to be set up in the front room.
