8th Grade LGPE Confirmation
The details have been finalized for the 8th Grade Band's Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE). This assesses in detail and confirms the students' mastery of the state band curriculum. Please avoid scheduling any conflicts on this date and release any other dates you reserved on your family calendar for this performance. Students will meet at 2:00 during 5th period and return to Dodgen around 7:30pm. Please review the information and itinerary below.
GROUP: Dodgen MS 8th Grade Band
DATE: Thursday, March 26th
LOCATION: South Cobb High School
FOOD: There is no opportunity to eat during this event. Students will eat lunch at school as usual, and we have built in time for students to eat a snack that they bring from home before we depart.
UNIFORM: Students will need to bring their official Dodgen Band uniform to school on 3/26! (Solid black pants, black socks that are long enough so that the student's leg does not show when seated, and the official white Dodgen Band Polo Shirt neatly tucked in.)
PARENTS: If you are available to attend the performance at South Cobb, the students would greatly appreciate performing for a large, supportive audience! We also need a few volunteers to ride with us as chaperones. Please volunteer on the Dodgen Band website.
CONFIRMATION: This form is also posted on the forms page of www.DodgenBand.org. Please complete either the online form OR the paper form by Thursday, 2/13.

DETAILED ITINERARY
9:00 AM Arrive at school with band uniform and a snack from home
9:13 AM Attend 1st – 5th period as usual
2:00 PM Report to band room during 5th period. Change into uniform and go to cafeteria for a snack.
2:20 PM Retrieve instruments and music from the band room. Load buses.
2:30 PM Depart for South Cobb High School
3:15 PM Arrive at South Cobb High School. Take instruments to storage area.
3:30 PM Watch East Cobb 7th Grade Symphonic Band perform.
4:00 PM Watch Awtrey 7th Grade Band perform
4:20 PM Retrieve instruments from storage area
4:30 PM Warm up and tune in designated warm-up room
5:10 PM Move from warm-up to performance location
5:15 PM Begin evaluated performance on stage!
5:35 PM Move to new location for clinic and sightreading
5:40 PM Clinic session with guest conductor
6:00 PM Sightreading evaluation
6:20 PM Pack up instruments
6:30 PM Load buses and depart
7:30 PM Arrive back at Dodgen, parents please leave room for buses to pull up to the band room
