Thank you for your interest in Volunteering at Bethnal Green Nature Reserve.
Our volunteer sessions offer an opportunity for people to learn about the nature reserve and help care for this space.
Jobs often include:
Laying wood chip on the paths
Habitat management (woodlands, wetlands, meadows)
Caring for the medicine garden
Caring for the Mushroom farm
Surveying (observing birds, insect, plants etc.)
Litter picking
Enjoying the reserve and keeping the paths well travelled
Children (under 18) are welcome but need to be acompanied by an adult, please message us if you have any questions.
Volunteer sessions are two hours long. They tend to
follow the format of an introduction to the day, working around the
reserve and finishing the session with a herbal tea.
On the day you will be able to select a job that best suits your interests and needs.
We encourage people to see what tasks they enjoy and to never feel like you need to carry on with a job you are not enjoying, there is always plenty of other work to be done.
Please select the dates you are available to volunteer.
Please check back at the end of the month when we will make new dates available.
We will be in-touch a few days before the volunteer session with more information about the day.
If you are on the waiting list we will get intouch if a space becomes avaliable.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Bethnal Green Nature Reserve.
