Roots on the Roof Core Committee Application Form 2017/2018

Only those who are available both winter terms can apply

Garden Manager:  Manage the planning and maintenance of the rooftop garden space. Also responsible for contributing to ideas surrounding how to  build gardening related skillsets in the community (ie workshops) and engage people with the space.

Education Coordinator:  Facilitate learning around food and community (ex. Food sovereignty, food justice, sustainable agriculture). Develop resources, frameworks,and opportunities for the community to build on their  understanding of place and people.

Community Partnerships: Build relationships with other community organizations and explore the garden as a shared experiential learning space. Possible relationships includes UBC classes, other educational institutions, and non-profit organizations etc.

Community Distribution Coordinator:  Explore avenues for produce distribution in the community.  Currently this includes the coordination of our CSA  (Community Supported Agriculture) program, Market Stands, and relationships with community businesses/organizations.

Food Programmer:  Coordinate events/workshops  to build  knowledge and community relationships around food and the rooftop garden space. They will also be responsible for organizing social activities with the core committee.

Communications and Outreach:  Manage club social media, promotions, website, and help build relationships between other community organizations. They are responsible for communicating our club values to the campus community and within Vancouver's food movement.
