Work experiences do not have to be a formal paid position and can be an internship, study abroad, service learning opportunity, or another format. PLS 4941 credits: Work experience time requirements are based on university course credit hour requirements: 3 hours worked per week for 15 weeks for 1 credit, 6 hrs/wk/15wks for 2 credits, and 9 hrs/wk/15wks for 3 credits. Select the appropriate number of credits, if you are requesting approval for a course other than PLS 4941, select other. *

The workplace supervisor must agree to: 1. work directly with the student and make explicit arrangements concerning expectations, hours, duties, and overall goals for the work experience, 2. provide a good learning environment for the student, with a minimum of filler work like filing or cleaning, 3. communicate throughout the experience with the student about their performance, keeping a record of student's hours and performance on the job, and 4. complete a final evaluation of the student's performance. *
