Plan-It Earth is an annual ideathon at Georgetown University that will bring together students, experts, and practitioners from throughout the DMV area to generate solutions to critical environmental challenges.
Over the course of two days, students will be guided by mentors from academia as well as organizations spanning the private, public, and social sectors with expertise covering the intersection of environmental challenges and global development. The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals will serve as the frameworks for guiding the projects and serve as competition tracks (SDGs 11, 12, 14, and 15). Keynote speeches will inspire participants ahead of team formation. Once teams have formulated their project idea, breakout sessions led by mentors will help students refine their projects by providing expert guidance in preparation for judging. The finalists will be connected to entrepreneurial outlets to launch their project beyond the two days of the ideathon.
