BCCIC Organizational Membership Application Form
Thank you for your interest in joining the BCCIC network! We are an active group of British Columbians engaged in international cooperation and dedicated to sustainable human development for all.

A BCCIC member is an organization, group, private entity or individual based in British Columbia who supports projects overseas and/or promotes an understanding of sustainable development and global citizenship through related work within the province. Full Membership Criteria
To qualify for organizational membership with BCCIC an applicant must:

a. be a non-profit organization registered in British Columbia or
b. a non-profit organization registered in Canada and working in British Columbia, or
c. a BC-based research centre or academic entity affiliated with a recognized British Columbia college, university or School District

Furthermore, the applicant must also:

d. adhere to the BCCIC’s constitution, mission statement and bylaws
e. have been an incorporated society for at least two years
f. accept the Istanbul CSO Development Effectiveness Principles as integral in guiding the work of their organization
g. be an identifiable provincial or local organization including a membership constituency with an elected executive
h. have a provincial/local annual budget related to its overseas projects and/or international development education program of activities geared to its local and/or provincial constituency
i. Show evidence of commitment to international development education programming
j. engage in sustainable development work in Canada and/or around the world in the context of universality and reciprocity
k. provide representation to and participation in BCCIC activities as appropriate and when necessary
l. acknowledge that the only spokespersons for the Society are BCCIC Board of Directors, BCCIC Executive Director or a BCCIC designated spokesperson
m. pay an annual membership fee

Required Supporting Documents
• Application Form
• Certificate of Incorporation as a non-profit organization (if applicable)
• Current Board of Directors list
• Financial statements
• Mission Statement
• Documentation which gives an overview of your organization
• 1-2 high resolution photos from your work either in BC or abroad
• An electronic version of your logo
• Any additional supporting documentation as desired
Upon receipt of your application
Once your application has been received, a member of the BCCIC team will be in touch with you to confirm as well as let you know if any documentation remains outstanding. Once deemed complete, organizational applications are sent on to the Board of Directors for recommendation and approval. Turnaround time for membership applications is one month. Upon approval by the Board of Directors, organizational members will be formally ratified at the next Annual General Meeting or formal membership gathering.
