Thank you for your interest in the TYPBC The Junior Learn-to-sail (LTS) programme.
Sailing is a fun sport which teaches children many excellent skills and will hopefully
instil in them a lifelong love of being on and in the water.
The programme is suitable for 9-18 years and commences during term 4 each year,
running through to the end of March. All children must be able to swim at least 50 metres before commencing our Learn To Sail programme.
The sessions take place each Thursday afternoon from 4-6 pm, weather dependent.
No experience is needed, and life jackets and wetsuits can be provided.
The first 2 weeks are a FREE and after that the cost is $40 per child for the season.
This is a special introductory rate which includes limited club membership, boat hire
and coaching. Future seasons will be at normal club membership rates which can
be viewed on the website.
Parents are required to help support sessions by assisting their children to rig their
boats (parts can be heavy for small children) and then help the boats to launch and
land and to wash down and put away at the end. Full training is given.
Numbers are limited for safety. If you contact us after the commencement of the LTS
programme, there may be places available or there is a waiting list.
