I'm reading the Bible in its entirety in 2018 and I'm inviting you to join me. I did this with a small group a couple of years ago, and we read it in a 90 day stretch between Ash Wednesday and Pentecost Sunday. That was a lot of reading every day! This time, it will only take about 15-20 minutes a day. My vision for this exercise is that it can unite all of us - regardless of how we're involved at FFUMC - can simply read scripture together, and hold each other accountable. When we get to the more difficult readings, it may help all of us to know that some of our church family are reading those same parts with us. No one is keeping track of what you read other than you. The email check ins are just to process what we've read together.
I'd like to keep our interactions email-based, with a supplemental facebook group for those interested, and to have "check-ins" periodically, perhaps when we complete large sections. For example, we could have a drop in coffee date one day soon after we finish the Torah, after we finish the books of history, etc.
This exercise will be simple - the biggest demand on your time is the actual reading, which you can read in your jammies before bed, read on your lunch break, listen (audio form - more on that later) when you first wake up or while you're working out or cleaning your house.
I have more info regarding the reading plan I'm using and how to get involved that I'll email to all those interested. I'm happy to this with two people or 200 people. Feel free to email me with any questions,
