Each year, we work with 100 adults who volunteer their time, energy, and wide range of talents and abilities to provide children and young adults with a safe, fun, and meaningful week of summer camp. For some of our campers, their one week at Camp Fowler is the only time they experience healthy love and care from adults, so we take our jobs seriously. We would love to have you join us in this awesome privilege of working with the campers who pass through our doors.
To ensure that we have all the information necessary to review your application, please review the following steps:
Step #1: Read and review the "Volunteer Staff Release."
Step #2: Enter all required Personal, Contact, and Health Information.
Step #3: Have two people submit an online reference form on your behalf
Step #4: We'll review applications after receipt of references.
Step #5: We'll send your 'Acceptance Confirmation' to your email. Please note that we send out confirmations in batches. There may be a delay between our receipt of your application and references and your receipt of a confirmation email. The first group of confirmation emails usually are sent out in March.
Step #6: You will receive a link to complete a background check from Trusted Employees in May/June. This is the final piece of the volunteer acceptance process.
The most critical volunteer role you can fill is that of a Cabin Counselor. Cabin Counselors work closely with our summer staff to care for the well-being of all campers and are an invaluable part of the camp experience.
We are also accepting volunteers to support our Maintenance and Kitchen Staff. We have expanded the responsibilities of our Kitchen volunteers and have reflected that change in the new name: Dining Hall Support Volunteers. Volunteers serving in this capacity will assist with food prep and clean up and maintenance of the entire dining hall facility, as directed by the Kitchen and Maintenance Staff. We are grateful to our volunteers for helping in these areas and hope to receive more applications than last year.
*It is recommended that all volunteers be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
