Email accounts are available to Kansas Wing-CAP senior members in good standing upon request. Cadet members must have the wing commander's approval for a @kswg.cap.gov
email account. 1. Kswg.cap.gov
email accounts are official CAP email addresses, and shall only be used for official CAP related business. 2. Kansas wing email accounts shall not be used for personal reasons. Personal uses include using your @kswg.cap.gov
email for signing up to non-CAP related mailing lists, commercial website accounts, or social networking websites (ex. facebook.com
). 3. Members shall not use their @kswg.cap.gov
email account for spamming. Spamming includes, but is not limited to: a) The bulk sending of unsolicited messages, or the sending of unsolicited e-mails which provoke complaints from recipients. b) The sending of junk mail. c) The use of distribution lists that include people who have not given specific permission to be included in such distribution process. d) E-mail harassment of another Internet user or users, including but not limited to, transmitting any threatening, libelous or obscene material, or material of any nature which could be deemed to be offensive. e) The e-mailing of age- inappropriate communications or content to cadet members. 4. When using these accounts to contact individuals of organizations outside of CAP, you are responsible to present a professional image of CAP through your communications that does not reflect badly onto the reputation of your unit, the Kansas Wing, CAP, the USAF (as its official auxiliary), or the United States Government. 5. If you believe your account has been compromised (hacked, password stolen, or someone is sending emails as you), you are required to change your password and notify the Wing IT director immediately. 6. Do not open attachments that you do not recognize, or from senders you do not know. These attachments are most likely computer viruses. Even though Gmail has a good anti-spam filter, it will not stop all spam or viruses. 7. Members shall not use their @kswg.cap.gov
email account in a manner that violates any city, state, national or international law or regulation, or which fails to comply with accepted Internet protocol. Doing so will result in immediate revocation of your email account, and a Kansas Wing staff member will inform the proper authorities. 8. Members shall not attempt to interfere in any way with Google Inc. Gmail service or network security, or attempt to use the Gmail service to gain unauthorized access to any other computer system. Doing so will result in immediate revocation of your email account, and a Kansas Wing staff member will inform the proper authorities. 9. The current Kansas Wing Commander and the current Director of Information Technology reserve the right to suspend an account anytime they feel that any Kansas Wing IT systems have been misused. 10. Suspected violation of this agreement will result in immediate account suspension until an investigation is completed and a report is made to the Kansas Wing commander, who shall then decide on a further course of action.
