Audition attire:
• Candidates should be in all black attire (tank or fitted shirt, leggings or shorts, athletic or jazz shoes are appropriate)
• Hair should be pulled back out of your face
• Makeup that you would use for a field performance should be worn

Video Requirements:
At the beginning of the video all candidates must introduce themselves. Tell us about yourself, how long have you been in guard, what is your intended major, etc. We want to get to know you as best as we can. Videos must be one continuous video. There should be no cuts or breaks in the filming of your audition.

Audition Routine:
Candidates will create a routine to demonstrate your BEST skills from our list below. Feel free to add any advanced skills that are not on our list. The entire video should be no longer than 3 minutes to the music of your choice. If you are skilled in weapon, your video should demonstrate both flag and weapon.

Here is a rough guide for how your video should be:
Introduction: 20-30 seconds
Routine 1-2 minutes
(your video does not have to follow these times, this is just an idea)

Skill Suggestions:
Flag:
• Drop spins
• Speed spins
• Slams
• Cones/figure 8's
• Front extension/back scratch/windmill
• Pull hit toss
• Horizontal
• 45 toss
• Extensions
Rifle:
• Right/Left spins
• Right/left tracks
• Single
• Double
• Triple
• Quad
• Highest toss you have
Dance:
• Plié
• Chassé
• Passé
• Chaîné turn
• Jazz run
• Jazz walk
• Various leaps

Reminder: You do not have to include all of these skills, but the more layering of skills, and the more you show us, the better we are to get an idea of who you are and how you spin.

How to upload your video to YouTube:
To upload an "unlisted" video, open YouTube and click on “Upload” located at the top right corner next to search bar.

You will see an option to upload a video using “Open” dialog or drag and drop the video right in the middle to upload. Below, you will see a drop down menu that should be set to “Public”. Click on it and from the menu select “Unlisted”. Now, any video you will upload will be private.

Once the video is finished uploading and is posted, you will email a link of the video to haleylatimer@ymail.com. The email subject should be: MGCCC-first name last name (just like in the title of your YouTube video). A response will be sent to you acknowledging that we have received your video.
