Indigenous Officer
The Indigenous Officer must represent the indigenous community.
Engage with the university about any issues relating to the ATSI community.
The Indigenous officer is expected to fulfil the following activities:
- Run at least 1 campaign throughout the year (this can be a joint campaign with another representative)
- Run an activity for NAIDOC Week
- Run at least on forum or competition relevant to the Indigenous community

Hours per week: 2 hours (volunteer)

- Must be enrolled as a student at Victoria University
- Must be available during orientation week
- Must campaign during student elections if running for a position
- Must be a student at VU for the entire duration of their term
- Knowledge of services provided at VU
- Above average leadership and communication skills
- Attend a minimum of 8 VUSU board meetings
- must be a student at Victoria University who identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander

Accessibility Officer
The accessibility officer will work closely and along-side VUSU and VU and support them in their events and initiatives surrounding accessibility. They will work with departments such as Safer Communities and Respect and Responsibility.
They must identify as someone with an accessibility issue and have the best interest of the whole community at heart
The accessibility officer is expected to fulfil the following activities:
- Run at least 1 campaign throughout the year (this can be a joint campaign with another representative)
- Run an activity for a cause in relation to accessibility
- Run at least one forum or competition relevant to accessibility

Hours per week: 2 hours (volunteer)

- Must be enrolled as a student at Victoria University
- Must be available during orientation week
- Must campaign during student elections if running for a position
- Must be a student at VU for the entire duration of their term
- Knowledge of services provided at VU
- Above average leadership and communication skills
- Attend a minimum of 8 VUSU board meetings
- must be a student at Victoria University who identifies as having a disability or is a carer for someone who identifies as
having a disability.

Committee Members
Must be enrolled as a student at Victoria University
- Must be available during orientation week
- Must campaign during student elections if running for a position
- Must be a student at VU for the entire duration of their term
- Knowledge of services provided at VU
- Above average leadership and communication skills

Welfare Committee - 5 members
The Welfare committee will be responsible for helping and assisting the Welfare officer with keeping up to date with student welfare issues on a local campus level and a national level (NUS). They will work closely with the Wellbeing department, Safer Communities department and the Respect and Responsibility department. They will also meet with the Welfare Officer regularly at the Welfare Officer’s discretion
Committee members may help the Welfare officer with the following initiatives:
- Running at least one free breakfast/brunch at each campus, each semester
- Running at least one campaign per semester
- Coordinating Mental Health First Aid courses for students (through mhfa.org)
- Coordinating First Aid courses for students (through VU internally)
- Running events for Mental Health Week and RUOK Day

Education Committee - 5 members
The VUSU Education committee is to assist the Education Officer to run campaigns on a series of Tertiary Education matters identified through communication with VU Students, as well as promote and inform students of changes to government and university policies which may affect their education. Campaigns should be educational in nature, and outcomes must be for the benefit of all students at Victoria University. Campaign tactics can include but are not exclusive to: videos, flyers, posters, events and forums. They will also meet with the Education Officer regularly at the Education Officer’s discretion
The Education Committee will help and assist the Education Officer in their initiatives not limited to:
- Sexual Consent Campaign (previous)
- Gender Neutral Bathroom Campaign (previous)
- 2x VUSU and VU Forums (expected)
- Text Book Competition (expected)

Activities Committee - 5 members
The VUSU Activities committee is to help and assist the Activities Officer to provide all campuses with social activities. They will be involved in helping the Activities Officer with the following events. They will also meet with the Activities Officer regularly at the Activities Officer’s discretion
- Student Welcome Events
- End of Exams Events
- Mid-Semester Student Welcome Event
- VUSU Annual Celebration
- Exam Revivers
