Canadian Right to Repair Principles
We, the members of the Canadian Repair Coalition, believe that repair should be affordable, accessible, and available to all. Repair reduces waste, supports local jobs, strengthens communities, and ensures that products last longer.
We support policies that:
✔ Ensure individuals, independent repairers, and businesses have the right to access repair parts, tools, software, and information.
✔ Promote repairability and interoperability in product design to prevent premature obsolescence.
✔ Recognize repair as driver of innovation and fair market competition.
✔ Recognize repair as a key part of a sustainable and circular economy.
✔ Support rural, remote, and Indigenous communities by making repair more accessible.
✔ Call on all levels of government to update consumer protection laws, competition rules, and manufacturing standards to remove barriers to repair.
By signing up, you are joining a growing movement of Canadians who believe in the Right to Repair and are working to restore repairability as a cornerstone of a fair and sustainable economy.
