Next year, we expect the state of Illinois to face a budget hole of approximately $6 billion. For the sake of comparison, this year’s total budget is about $36 billion, and we’re spending $6.8 billion on K-12 education (approximately 19% of spending). How do you believe we should confront this budget hole?

A recent federal Supreme Court ruling stated that employers cannot be required to purchase insurance plans that include contraceptives. Illinois has traditionally approached this issue a different way. Our state requires all insurance plans to cover contraceptives. Do you support this requirement?
