The goals of the day-long symposium are:
Identify educator needs through an inquiry-based approach to support effective implementation of the Native American history mandate and promote meaningful, student-centered learning in the classroom.
Develop tools and resources that empower the Native community to support educators and contribute to implementation efforts.
Promote the use of Native voices and primary sources to ensure educational materials reflect authentic Indigenous perspectives.
Strengthen collaboration across communities, including Tribal education offices, parents, educators, and organizations—and define next steps to sustain momentum for this important work.
