Become a Friend of Arriving New Students - FANS 2019!
If you are interested in becoming a Friend of Arriving New Students (FANS) for the Great Start Project 2019 then you can register your interest here!

To have a chance of being selected as a FANS you will need to be studying at - or have access to the University of Westminster in September 2019. The FANS role will begin on Monday 16th September 2019 and it will take place during the whole of orientation. You will need to be free during the whole of orientation week with no other commitments.

A welcome and assessment meeting will run in April, this will be in order for you to learn more about the position and to assess your suitability for the role. In order to become FANS, you will have to be trained and briefed for the role. A 2-day training session will then take place in August 2019 (Dates TBC) to help you get ready for the position. Short briefing sessions will also take place just before your role begins in September.

Exact dates for training have not been set however the 2 days training will take place during August. If you are unavailable for training then you will not be able to be selected for the position as training is essential to the role. Would you be happy to attend?
Will you be available to attend 3 briefing sessions just before the FANS role begins? *
Dates for the briefing sessions have not yet been set but it is likely to place in the week before the role begins (this will be the week before orientation week). Along with the training, briefing sessions are also essential to the FANS role therefore you will be required to attend. The briefs will not be more than 1 - 2 hours long and will take place at the university.
