If you feel that your learner would benefit from weekend food support, you may sign him/her up to participate in Lakeshore Food 4 Kids (LF4K). LF4K is a program that runs on donations, grants, and the help of volunteers.
LF4K provides weekend food to kids who rely on school meals for their main source of nutrition. Each weekend food bag contains (mostly) non-perishable food for one child. It contains items similar to the meals a student would receive at school: 2 breakfast options, 2 lunch options, 2 snacks, and 2 servings each of fruits and vegetables. Older learners receive two additional entrees. These items need to be prepared by a family member.
Please note that if your child has food allergies, it will be the responsibility of the
parent/guardian to check the contents of the bag each week to ensure the food
doesn’t contain ingredients which could cause an allergic reaction.
Please answer the following questions, and you will be contacted by LASD Resource Coordinator, Becky Erickson. After you receive a callback, your child's weekend food will be available on Thursdays at school.
Becky Erickson and LASD School Counselors will have access to the information you provide below.
