John Thomas Subak Emergency Fund Application (2020-21)
The John Thomas Subak Emergency Fund is available to assist enrolled students who are experiencing a financial emergency, excluding tuition-related expenses. Examples include, but are not limited to, past due utility bill, books for current classes, emergency medical bill/medicine, car repair, and other similar emergencies. Students who are experiencing financial emergencies and who have exhausted other resources are encouraged to avail themselves of the John Thomas Subak Emergency Fund. Requests for emergency assistance are considered on the basis of what is clearly recognized as a bonafide emergency. As such, the Student Emergency Fund Committee considers each request separately.
General Guidelines: (please read carefully before completing application)
(1) Assistance for bonafide emergencies will be limited to a minimum of three months apart.
(2) Pell-eligible, international and DACA students are eligible to apply.
(3) The maximum amount available per student or family unit is not to exceed $500.00 per Guilford education career.
(4) Student must be enrolled for at least one semester before becoming eligible to receive a grant for the John Thomas Subak Emergency Fund.
(5) Student must not have an outstanding balance in the current semester
