PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE PARTICIPATING

By attending or participating in North Texas White Cane Safety Day (the “Event”), you agree to the following terms:

1. Voluntary Participation & Assumption of Risk

Participation is entirely voluntary. The Event may involve walking along public routes, sidewalks, and gathering areas, which may present risks such as uneven surfaces, weather exposure, and vehicular traffic. Participants, including those who are blind, visually impaired, or accompanying others, understand and accept these inherent risks.

2. Personal Responsibility

All participants are responsible for their own well-being during the Event. Individuals requiring assistance (such as a guide, caregiver, or mobility aid) are encouraged to attend with appropriate support. Participants agree to follow all instructions provided by Event staff and local authorities and to comply with relevant laws and traffic rules.

3. Release of Liability

By participating, you agree to release and hold harmless the organizers of the North Texas White Cane Safety Day Walk, including any sponsoring organizations, volunteers, vendors, and associated partners, from any and all claims for injuries, losses, or damages—whether to person or property—arising out of or in connection with your participation.

4. Medical Emergency

In the event of a medical emergency, you authorize the Event organizers to seek emergency medical treatment on your behalf, and you accept responsibility for any associated medical costs.

5. Minors

Participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult, who accepts full responsibility for the minor’s safety and compliance with this waiver.

6. Media Consent

The Event may be photographed or recorded. By attending, you consent to the use of your image, voice, or likeness in promotional and informational materials, unless you notify organizers in writing before the start of the Event.

7. Event Modifications

Organizers reserve the right to modify, postpone, or cancel the Event due to inclement weather, safety concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances.
