Winter 2018 Commissioner/Speaker Application
This application is for students interested in being a Commissioner or Speaker within the Engineering Society 'A' for the Winter 2018 academic term. Commissioners work closely with the Society directors and the Executive to ensure that all Society events, services and operations run successfully. Each commissioner holds an 8 month term from September 2017 to April 2018. You must be an on-term member during the Winter 2018 term.

This application will close on Saturday June 24th, 2017.

Speaker:
The Speaker is an officer reporting directly to the President who is responsible for preparing and distributing the agenda for the Society Council meetings, chairing council meetings, and ruling on any disputes involving the interpretation of the Constitution, Bylaws and Policies of the Society.

Advertising Commissioner:
Reporting to the VP Communications, they are in charge of all aspects of official Society communications including the mailing lists, LCD screens, posters, and administration of all official social media accounts, with the help of a marketing and media teams. They work with the VP Communications to continuously explore new ways to communicate events, announcements and other relevant information to Society members.

Career Fair Commissioner:
Reporting to the VP Academic, the Career Fair Commissioner is responsible for organizing and running the Waterloo Engineering Society Career Fair. They will oversee and manage all of the logistical aspects of the event, including finding employers, booking venues, and managing a team of directors to ensure that all aspects of the event are run successfully.

Mental Health Commissioner:
Reporting to the VP Academic, the Mental Health Commissioner is responsible for all of the mental health initiatives that are ran within the Engineering Society. This includes supporting MATES (Mentor Assistance Through Education and Support) and sitting on the MATES Executive team, as well as overseeing the mental health blog, post-secret, and other initiatives determined by the Commissioner, the Executive, and the mental health team.

Student Services Commissioner:
Reporting to the VP Academic, they oversee the majority of the service directors within the Society, including workshops, resume critiques, and professional development activities. They liaise with the service directors to ensure that they have the support necessary to successfully run their events. They will work with the VP Academic to continue improving and/or expanding the services offered by the Society.

Outreach Commissioner:
Reporting to the VP Student Life, they are in charge of working to increase the amount of community outreach opportunities offered through the Society. They work closely with their directors by providing support and direction when needed. They are also encouraged to work with the VP Student Life to develop new ideas for outreach events and programs.

Socials & Events Commissioner:
Reporting to the VP Student Life, they oversee the majority of the event directors within the Society and liaise with the event directors to ensure that they have the resources and support necessary to successfully run their events. They will work with the VP Student Life to continue improving the events run by the Society.
