Job Description:

Head of Software responsible for carrying out software development for the painting robot.

Job requires use of object oriented languages. C ++, Python (short term).

Managing the transition to ROS in the medium term, on the painting robot.

Will be operating at a high level in the engineering team, reporting to Engineering Director.

We will be on site carrying our trials for 1st half of 2019, so also rolling out updates and collecting live IoT data updates once the robots are in service. You will liaise with the electronic engineers and also the robotic systems engineers to determine the physical constraints of the robot and the challenges that must be overcome. Software measures can then be implemented to mitigate safety risks.

You'll need:

1. English and Maths at GCSE Level, or Equivalent Qualification.
2. STEAM (Stem with arts and design) A-Levels or equivalent are preferred but not required.
3. Path planning and experience with robotics essential, in personal, professional or academic setting.

Desirable Attributes:

1. OpenCV use and experience with ROS desirable but not essential
2. Must be able to problem solve and research new methods of doing things
3. Must have good communication skills
4. Interest in construction industry and a curiosity
5. Entrepreneurial nature
