Year Round Committees
These committees meet and hold various events throughout the year. Volunteers will be called on as needed by Committee Chairs.
ARTS - PERFORMING - Upper School Chair: TBD ● Intermediate/Middle School Chair: TBD
Support the Postoak Campus arts by helping with costumes, props, programs and/or refreshments.
ARTS - VISUAL - Chair: TBD
Assist the Postoak Campus faculty in exhibiting student artwork in the Spring.
DONE IN A DAY - Contact: Rory Quint
This program provides parents with unpredictable schedules the perfect opportunity to volunteer on a one-time basis. From administrative tasks, to mailing help, to set-up/clean-up/participation for events or take home projects, there are many ways to lend a hand and show your support for the school.
FACULTY/STAFF APPRECIATION - Co-Chairs: Holly Cirrito and Ana Pabon-Naab
Host luncheons and provide occasional treats throughout the school year to honor the faculty and staff.
PARENT-TO-PARENT - Chair: Michelle Birnbaum
Build connections among parents through various community events. Volunteers help to plan and organize events throughout the year.
SCHOOL STORE - Manager: Marilyn Converse
The School Store sells school supplies and spirit items. Volunteers assist in the store on an as-needed basis.
STUDENT CENTER CAFE - Manager: Gregg Ponitch
The Student Center Cafe is looking for up to two parent volunteers to work Friday afternoons from 3:30 to 5:30 and some Wednesday mornings from 8:30 to 9:30.
Community Events
These events are held on specific days throughout the year. Volunteers will be contacted by Event Chairs who will provide information and communicate the ways volunteers can help. Events are listed in chronological order.
HOMECOMING and WALK FOR THE HOMELESS (Location: Postoak Campus - All Community Event) Chair: Tasha Caroll-Seals, Robein Lucas, and Ana Pabon-Naab (Walk)
Held on October 13th, Homecoming is a day that celebrates school spirit with a walk that supports the homeless in the DC area, followed by sporting events, food, games and fun for the whole family. Volunteers are needed to assist in monitoring various areas in manageable shifts during the celebration.
GRANDPARENTS & SPECIAL FRIENDS - (Location: Postoak Campus) Chair: Kristen Cook
Held on November 20th, the event brings grandparents and special friends to the school for a morning of classes and chapel service. Volunteers are needed to help with set-up and serving breakfast.
HOLIDAY DECORATIONS - (Location: Postoak Campus) Chair: Ana Pabon-Naab
The committee decorates the Postoak campus on November 26th for the winter holidays.
ST. ANDREW'S NIGHT (Location: Postoak Campus - All Community Event) Chair: Christina Wills
Held on December 6th, the event is a family celebration honoring the school’s founding. The evening includes a service of lessons and carols. Volunteers are needed for baking, set-up, decorations and selling items the night of.
PROJECT RED BALLOON - Chair: Chris McCloy
On March 19th, help welcome newly enrolled families into the St. Andrew's community by decorating their mailboxes with SAES balloons. This one-day activity is full-on fun and it's the perfect way to show your school spirit!
GALA - (Location: Postoak Campus) - Contact: Suzi Henderson and Andrea Smith
St. Andrew's annual Fund-A-Scholar Gala will be held on March 2, 2019 at the Washington National Cathedral. Please contact co-chairs Suzi Henderson and Andrea Smith for more information on this community event. Event will feature an online silent auction and a community dinner.
FLOWER MART - (Location: Washington National Cathedral) - Co-Chairs: Crystal Thrower and Suellen Williams
Held the first Friday and Saturday in May at the Washington National Cathedral. Parents help out at one of several booths.

IS SERVICE LEARNING - Chair: Rev. Sally Slater
This committee supports the IS Chaplain through various service projects. 
LS/IS FAMILY HERITAGE NIGHT - (Location: Postoak Campus) Chair: Ashley Walker and Wosher “Tarlo” Yuan
On January 25th, from 6pm to 8pm,, Lower School and Intermediate School families will have the opportunity to celebrate and share their heritage by hosting tables featuring photographs, art, maps and food from the country, state or region they are representing. Volunteers are needed to help organize and promote the event, and to set-up, clean-up and provide support during the event on the Postoak campus.
Spring IS Family Dinner - (Location: IS Building) - Chair: TBD
Held on May 3rd, from 6pm to 8pm, the Spring IS Family Dinner is an evening that celebrates the IS community. Volunteers are needed to assist in monitoring various areas in manageable shifts including set-up and clean-up.
