It is a series of events designed to celebrate Japanese culture and the Japanese community in Ireland. We promote integration and cultural understanding between all communities. We are looking for volunteers for our various events but in particular for our main "hanami" festival day on Sunday 7th April 2019 in Farmleigh House, Phoenix Park, White's Road, Dublin 15. The Google Maps location is available here: https://goo.gl/maps/Pd637ZizRHx. There will also be an early morning, free bus from the city centre for volunteers. If you wish to take public transport then the 37 bus will take you nearby. Exit the bus at Phoenix Park Gate, then enter the park and follow the signs for Farmleigh.
Experience Japan brings families and friends together every year to enjoy our free music and dance performances, along with demonstrations of Japanese culture. ‘Hanami’ is the traditional Japanese custom of viewing flowers, especially cherry blossom, to mark the arrival of spring. For a flavour of our previous events, visit our website, www.experiencejapan.ie.
However, Experience Japan can't be the success it is without the help of our volunteers! Last year we had over 150 people sign up to volunteer. Descriptions of the kind of work expected in each area are described in the form so we can find the perfect area for your skills and interests.
As a thank you, volunteers will be rewarded with a free t-shirt and will also be invited to the exclusive volunteers' after-party (further details to be announced in the run up to the event).
