Beginning Crochet Dishcloth - Round
Saturday, February 7  9:00 am – 12:00 pm
You’ve learned the basics, so now let’s learn how to crochet in the round! This is the second class in the Learning to Crochet lineup. 

Saturday, February 7 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Beginning Crochet Dishcloth - Round (Class limit of 4-5 4-H members – Adults welcome – 6-7 adult limit)
  • Skill level: some experience needed
  • We will be learning MR, single crochet and INC.
  • You will be learning to make 1 round dishcloth.

Materials required:
  • 100% cotton yarn – 1 ball #4 weight (worsted) example: Lily & Cream, Sugar & Cream, I Love this Cotton (Hobby Lobby) 
  • Color is mostly your choice, but  NO BLACK YARN
  • Small cinch bag or similar to store and carry your project in

Supply kits are $5, due at class. If you have your own supplies, you may bring those and not have to purchase a kit. Kit Includes:
  • Pattern (no charge)
  • 3 Crochet hooks lettered G  (4mm), H (5mm) and J (6mm) (only H (5mm) is needed for this project if you are brining your own)
  • Pen
  • scissors
  • stitch markers
  • Folder (to store patterns in)

Spring is around the corner! So let’s get ready for the beach or farmer’s market with this Open-Air Cotton Market Bag by Left in Knots. This cute and practical bag will add to your skills and make your shopping more enjoyable. Please note; this is a 2 part class!

PART 1:  February 21 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
PART 2:  March 7 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • Skill level – at least 6 months – must have control of tension
  • We will be making this bag in the round, learning the oval technique
  • We will be using: SC, INC, HDC, DC and sl st

Materials required:
  • Hook:  6 mm (J)
  • 100% cotton yarn – 550 – 600 yds #4 weight (worsted) example: Lily & Cream, Sugar & Cream, I Love this Cotton (Hobby Lobby) 
  • Color is mostly your choice,  NO BLACK YARN
  • Folder (to store patterns in)

Let’s make an Easter egg for our adorable Itty Bitty Crochet Kitty friend. Bring them along if you have created some before. If you have not created a Kitty you can start after the egg is created!

  • Any form of worsted weight (#4) yarn; acrylic, wool or a blend is okay - Yardage required is a minimum of 50 yds - NO 100% cotton - NO velvet, chenille or blanket yarn (this is very hard to see stitches)
  • Color is your choice, but be aware if you choose black yarn it is more difficult to see as you work.
  • Folder (to store patterns in)

The following will be provided, but if you have your own supplies, you are welcome to bring them.

Trivet Thermal stitch

Come learn a fun new stitch! The Thermal stitch is a fun stitch that creates a thicker fabric.

Saturday, April 11 9:00 am – 12:00 pm –Thermal Crochet Trivet by Yarnmare Untangled Knit & Crochet (Class limit of 4-5 4-H members – Adults welcome – 6-7 adult limit

  • Skill level: some experience needed
  • We will be learning basic thermal stitch.
  • You will be learning to make 1 trivet.

Materials required:
  • Hook: 8mm (L)
  • 100% cotton yarn –  350 – 450 yards #4 weight (worsted) example: Lily & Cream, Sugar & Cream, I Love this Cotton (Hobby Lobby)
  • Color is mostly your choice, but  NO BLACK YARN

Granny Square bag or pillow 
Part 1: Saturday, May 9 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Part 2: Saturday, May 16 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Granny Squares! These are not as easy as you think, but this class will help you become a Granny Square pro in no time! You will be creating 8 squares and then incorporating them into a tote bag or pillow. Please note; this is a 2 part class!

Part 1: May 9 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Part 2: May 16 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
(Class limit of 4-5 4-H members – Adults welcome – 6-7 adult limit)
  • Skill level: some experience needed
  • We will be learning Granny Square stitch and concepts.
  • You will be learning to make 8 granny squares.

Materials required:
  • 5mm (H)
  • Any form of worsted weight (#4) yarn; acrylic, wool or a blend is okay - Yardage required is 150 - 250 yds
    NO 100% cotton, NO velvet, chenille or blanket yarn (this is very hard to see stitches)
  • Color is mostly your choice, but be aware if you choose black yarn it is more difficult to see as you work. 
  • Folder (to store patterns in)

The following will be provided Please note there will be an additional charge of $5 for the canvas bags or pillow.
