The “Knowledge into use” awards are prizes for innovative and creative ways of facilitating the use of resilience knowledge. Through the Resilience Knowledge Coalition, GRP and partners would like to invite individuals, groups or grassroots organisations to submit concept notes/ ideas/ abstracts on how they intend to express resilience knowledge through a creative channel. These could be games, cartoons, arts, theater, exhibits of local and indigenous knowledge or audio-visual content (movies, songs, etc). The most interesting concepts will be awarded cash awards with the expectation that the award money will act as an enabler for the individual/group/grassroots organisation to implement or express the idea creatively in time for an exhibition within 6-8 months. Over and above the awards, the winning entries have an opportunity to showcase their idea at milestone events such as COP27 and/or the GRP Evidence Forum in 2023. Social media posts and blogs on the winning entries will also be shared on GRP’s social media accounts and website.

What to Submit:

Please submit the following

An entertaining audio visual version (not more than 10 minutes) of the concept in form of (but should not be limited to) games, videos, podcasts, comics or graphic art, or performing arts, etc.
A written concept note to describe the evidence behind the art in Pdf or word (max 200 words);

Guidelines

The contest is open to organisations with a presence in at least one country of a country eligible for Official Development Assistance as defined by the OECD-DAC;
The concept note/idea should be brief and evidence-based, i.e. it is necessary to cite evidence in the form of reports or research papers to build a case for the resilience of knowledge put to use;
The medium of expression can be (but should not be limited to) games, videos, podcasts, comics or graphic art, or performing arts, etc;
The ideas for the Knowledge into use Awards may be at any stage of completion;
The broad themes for this contest include Urban, Rural and Coastal Resilience;
Harmonising science with elements of justice, equity and indigenous and local knowledge expressed creatively using the evidence that exists on these three themes is highly encouraged;
The winners will be selected based on creativity in expression and sound evidence base of knowledge as expressed in the application;
The awarded cash prizes is supposed to enable the individual/group/grassroots organisation to implement or express the idea creatively in time for exhibition;
The copyright for the final products will lie with the winners. GRP, ICCCAD and CDKN retain the right to use the material on social media and its website;
Submit your entry early to increase your chances of getting featured. Submissions will be reviewed daily.
