Aboriginal Cricket Development Plan Survey
The Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) aims to be a leader across Australian Sport in engaging people of all backgrounds and abilities in the game of cricket. As part of this vision the WACA is committed to a number of strategies with a focus of improving and strengthening the pathways and opportunities for Aboriginal participants. The formation of the Western Australian Aboriginal Cricket Advisory Committee (WAACAC) was designed to help shape and drive strategies and plans in engaging more Aboriginal players, volunteers and fans as well as better recognising the long history of Aboriginal Cricket in WA. The Aboriginal Cricket Development Plan (ACDP) is an example of one of the initiatives being overseen by the WAACAC and has been designed to help shape the strategic direction for Aboriginal Cricket across the State.
The Aboriginal Cricket Development plan will guide the strategic direction and development of Aboriginal Cricket across WA. Ensuring a strong pathway from children and youth through to WACA talent programs, as well as engaging Aboriginal people in more administration, coaching and umpiring roles will be central to this plan.
The result of this survey will be used to shape the development of programs to ensure that cricket will be a sport for all West Australians.
