Long Island Coalition for the Homeless (LICH) invites you to an in person convening to participate in training and practice sharing related to both Housing First and safety planning for guests fleeing violence.
The convening will be held at Long Island Coalition for the Homeless located at 600 Albany Ave, Amityville, NY on February 12 from 930-330pm. There will be an hour lunch break for attendees to get lunch on their own. Upon registration you will receive a calendar invite.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
930-1230: Housing First dialogues- this is an interactive session for organizations to share best practices and have dialogue around the challenging implementation aspects of Housing First.
12:30-1:30: Lunch
1:30-3:30: Safety Planning- this session will include an overview of the Continuum of Care's new emergency transfer plan, a HUD requirement for all CoC programs to adhere to, as well as sharing of best practices on how any program, including non-victim services, can incorporate safety planning for clients who at fleeing or at risk of fleeing violence.
