Community Engagement: Participate in the MSCS Superintendent Search!
** The Superintendent Search candidate interviews originally scheduled to take place this week have been postponed due to winter weather. The candidate interviews are being rescheduled. We'll share updated information once the dates have been solidified. **

Next week, the top three candidates in the MSCS superintendent search will be in town, learning more about our great community and interviewing with the Shelby County Board of Education. 

As part of this experience, we have identified opportunities for community partners to spend time with the candidates and share their visions and priorities for the future. Interested organizations can identify one representative who will meet and ask questions of each candidate in 30-minute segments. To be fair to the candidates, organizations who sign up are required to participate in a session with each of the three candidates, for a total of three 30-minute sessions. 

We have limited slots and will accommodate as many organizations as possible, but we cannot guarantee that all will get confirmed. Organizations will be grouped with up to two other organizations in each 30-minute segment, for a total of up to three organizations engaging with the candidates at the same time. 

The 30-minute segments will be scheduled during the following times:
  • Thursday, Feb. 1, 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Friday, Feb. 2, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 
Note that the Friday times overlap with the Board's interviews of the candidates. Thus, organizations that plan to attend the interviews and participate in the 30-minute segments would need to have representatives for both activities, if your assigned time falls on Friday.

If your organization is interested in participating in the individual candidate sessions, you must complete this form no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024. Please block out the time you request, as final schedules will not be available until Wednesday. We will schedule a Zoom call on Wednesday to go over final details for confirmed organizations.
