Temple Sholom 3rd & 4th Grade Family B'nai Mitzvah Retreat Registration 2017
As Rabbi Goldberg often says, the answer to many of life’s challenges can be found in Jewish wisdom and practice. In his new book, “The Road to Character,” David Brooks says, "Greater emphasis is put on personal feelings as a guide to what is right and wrong. It's not that people today are more selfish than people in the past, but we've lost the understanding of how character is built."

The 3rd & 4th Grade Family B'nai Mitzvah Retreat will be an opportunity to explore how the B'nai Mitzvah experience at Temple Sholom is a step to Jewish living and becoming a mensch, while building community through getting away to enjoy Shabbat time together at camp. Rabbi Goldberg, Cantor Ben-David and Kendra Gerstein will facilitate the adult and family programs, with children's programming led by our Youth Advisor Sari Cornfeld. There will be time for parents and children to connect, together and separately, with other families as well as our clergy, to enjoy relaxed meals, play games and learn together. The retreat, planned as part of our participation in the URJ's Chicagoland B'nai Mitzvah Revolution cohort, will be March 3-5, 2017 at URJ Camp OSRUI in Oconomowoc, WI.
