Endorse the MPC's Policy Agenda

View the policy agenda here.

This policy agenda was crafted by members of the Media Power Collaborative, an organizing space for media workers, movement organizers and allied researchers to build a shared vision for the future of our local media system. A working group of ten civic and community media leaders, with the support of Free Press Action staff, developed this framework as part of the Media Power Collaborative’s desire to build power in support of an equitable and sustainable civic information system.

As local news policy debates pick up across the country, our hope is that this agenda can serve as both a unifying values framework for civic media advocates and community leaders, and as a guide to the policy solutions that are needed at this critical inflection point.

By building support behind this collective vision, we can begin redefining the debate around the future of local news and ensure that lawmakers put community need over corporate profits.
