Op zoek naar een (expo)ruimte in Gent?

Dit is het aanvraagformulier voor PLEK.

Wij bieden ruimte voor tentoonstellingen, cinema-avonden, concerten, performances, experimenten, sociale initiatieven en meer. We staan open voor nachtleven, maar beperken dit tot 12 evenementen per jaar om overlast voor de buurt te minimaliseren. We werken hiervoor samen met Jeugd van de Nacht (https://www.jeugdvandenacht.gent) 
Evenementen die geen nachtleven zijn, maken meer kans op goedkeuring.

Data en Periodes

PLEK biedt gratis ruimte aan jonge makers/collectieven in de maanden februari, maart, april, mei, juni, september, oktober en november 2025.
Tijdens de Gentse Feesten werken we samen met Jeugd van de Nacht en lanceren een aparte open call.
Juli en augustus zijn niet beschikbaar voor aanvragen.

Hoe werkt het?

• Open Calls:
• 15 dec - 15 jan voor de maanden februari - juni
• 15 apr - 15 juni voor de maanden september - november
• Duur van de ruimtehuur:
  Van 1 dag tot maximaal 1 maand. We geven voorkeur aan projecten met meerdere evenementen achter elkaar.
• Jury:
  Een jury beoordeelt alle aanvragen. Geef zoveel mogelijk opties voor beschikbare momenten. Hoe meer info, hoe makkelijker het voor ons is om je aanvraag te verwerken. EIND MEI maken we de selectie bekend.
• Openstelling:
  Wanneer je in PLEK bent, wil je de ruimte zoveel mogelijk gebruiken en openstellen voor het publiek. PLEK is bij voorkeur open op vrijdagavonden, maar je kunt de ruimte openen zoveel je wilt. Meerdere openingen of momenten van creatie/presentatie worden sterk aangemoedigd.  
• Type projecten:
  PLEK is voor creatie en presentatie in de breedste zin van het woord. Alles is mogelijk, vooral voor jonge sociale, creatieve, innovatieve of impactvolle initiatieven.

Praktische Informatie

• Huur:
  De ruimte is gratis.
• Drankverkoop:
  Je mag drank aanbieden, maar dit is niet verplicht. PLEK voorziet een beperkt aanbod van dranken tegen democratische prijzen. Bij een omzet van meer dan 400 euro krijg je €0,50 per verkochte consumptie. De betaling gebeurt via ons kassasysteem (cashbetalingen zijn niet toegestaan).
• PLEK staat in voor verzekeringen, de vaste kosten EGW (elektriciteit, water en gas) én regelt SABAM & Billijke Vergoeding. De vaste kosten en kosten aan de ruimte worden betaald met inkomsten uit de bar. 
• Toegang : we moedigen sterk aan om de inkom tot PLEK gratis te houden. Wil je toch inkom vragen, dan kan dat maximaal 5 euro per persoon zijn. 
• PLEK is in regel om 02u00 gesloten. 

Elke invuller is geacht ons huishoudelijk reglement te kennen. HET IS NOODZAKELIJK HET REGLEMENT GRONDIG DOOR TE NEMEN VOOR JE AAN AANVRAAG DOET !

Looking for an (exhibition) space in Ghent?

This is the application form for PLEK.
We offer space for exhibitions, cinema nights, concerts, performances, experiments, social initiatives, and more. We are open to nightlife, but we limit it to 12 events per year to minimize disturbance to the neighborhood. We collaborate with Jeugd van de Nacht (https://www.jeugdvandenacht.gent) for these events. Non-nightlife events have a higher chance of approval.

Dates and Periods

PLEK offers free space to young makers/collectives during the months of February, March, April, May, June, September, October, and November 2025.
During the Gentse Feesten, we collaborate with Jeugd van de Nacht and will launch a separate open call.
July and August are not available for applications.

How does it work?

• Open Calls:
• 15 Dec - 15 Jan for the months February - June
• 15 Apr - 15 June for the months September - November
• Duration of the space rental:
  From 1 day to a maximum of 1 month. We prioritize projects with multiple events in succession.
• Jury:
  A jury will review all applications. Please provide as many available dates as possible. The more information we have, the easier it will be to process your request.  We will announce the selection at the end of May.  
• Opening:
  When you are at PLEK, we encourage you to use the space as much as possible and open it up to the public. PLEK is preferably open on Friday evenings, but you can open it as much as you want. Multiple openings or moments of creation/presentation are strongly encouraged.
• Type of projects:
  PLEK is open to creation and presentation in the broadest sense. Almost anything is possible, especially for young, social, creative, innovative, or impactful initiatives.

Practical Information

• Rent:
  The space is free.
• Drink sales:
  You may offer drinks, but this is not mandatory. PLEK provides a limited selection of drinks at affordable prices. If you have sales of over €400, you will receive €0.50 per drink sold. Payments are processed via our cash register system (no cash payments allowed).
• Fees:
  PLEK covers insurance, fixed costs (electricity, water, gas), and handles SABAM & Fair Compensation. The income from the bar helps cover these costs.
• Entrance:
  We strongly encourage keeping the entrance to PLEK free. If you do decide to charge an entrance fee, it can be a maximum of €5 per person.
• Closing time:
  PLEK must close by 02:00
