The Entry Fee/s associated with competing in this event are detailed below, payable by check. If you are selected as a competitor, you must submit payment to guarantee your spot. The Hartford Rib Off is a 2 day event. Teams are expected to arrive and begin setting up at least one day prior to their competition date. Details will be available in the cook team packet.
Friday, October 23, 2020 is an SCA Contest. The 2 judged meats are steak and chicken wings, and the people's choice item is chicken wings. Event organizers will provide the contest steaks to teams, cook team is required to bring chicken wings for their contest submission. The Event organizers will provide the people's choice protein, for those choosing to compete in the People's Choice contest*.
Saturday, October 24, 2020 is a KCBS Master Series Contest. The standard 4 meats will be judged. The people's choice item is pulled pork. Cook team is required to bring ingredients/protein for all of the judged items, and the Event organizers will provide the people's choice protein, for those choosing to compete in the People's Choice contest*.
Teams may choose to compete in the SCA or KCBS contests individually, or to compete in both contests.
Prizes will be a cash purse and trophies, values TBA.
* People's Choice Contest: Teams choosing to participate in the People's Choice contest must participate on both Friday and Saturday. The people's choice contest will be capped at 15 teams, first come first served. Those 15 teams will receive a 25% discount on their entry fee and will receive a bump up of 1 space size. All people's choice competitors will be grouped in the same general area. The people's choice contest will take place on Friday night for 1 hour only [time TBD] and on Saturday for 2 one-hour blocks only [times TBD], not throughout the entire event. Voting for each day will be completely separate, and winners will be announced at the same time as the contest winners. Prizes will be a cash purse and trophies, values TBA.

Hartford Rib Off, Inc., KCBS, and SCA, including its officers, sponsors and/or associates and the contestants, including parents, and/or legal representatives, agree that the Hartford Rib Off, Inc., KCBS, and SCA, will in no case be responsible for any loss, damage, or injury regardless of how much loss, damage, or injury is occasioned, and indemnify and save harmless The Hartford Rib Off, Inc., KCBS, and SCA from any and all claims, suits, and/or judgments including the cost for defense of and such claim and/or suit by the Hartford Rib Off, Inc., KCBS, SCA brought by anyone as a result of any loss, damage, or injury to any person or property, occasioned by any action or inaction of contestant, either solely or in conjunction with the Hartford Rib Off, Inc., KCBS or SCA. Further, I hereby grant full permission to the Hartford Rib Off, Inc., KCBS, SCA, and/or agents authorized by them, to use any photographs, videotapes, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of the event for any legitimate purpose.
