Gateway Application 2024
Gateway is a vocational subject designed to encourage seamless transitions for Year 12 and 13 students into tertiary studies or the workforce.

If accepted for Gateway you agree to represent the school and yourself with pride and to do the best of your ability in both the workplace and in the classroom.

Please read through all application information below prior to completing the form.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:
You need to be capable of achieving NCEA Level 2 or Level 3.
You need to be capable of achieving at least 20 practical and/or academic credits.
You will do distance learning and school-based learning so you must be able to work independently.
There will be some offsite workshops for some students.
You need to catch up on all school work missed due to practical days.
You need to be working well in all of your other classes.
You need to keep a work diary.

PRACTICAL REQUIREMENTS:
You will have a minimum of 10 work placements throughout the academic year (additional placements by mutual negotiation).
You will complete a First Aid course.
You will complete a one-day Health and Safety course.
You will complete Unit Standards on compiling a CV and Employee Obligations in the Workplace before starting your work placement.

APPLICATIONS DUE BY 3pm FRIDAY 18TH AUGUST
Once applications are in, students and parents will be sent a link to book a Gateway interview.
