This agreement is between the participant named above and the organizers and instructors of the Kendo Beginners Course ("the Course").

1. Acknowledgment of Risk

I understand that participating in Kendo, a martial art involving physical contact, strenuous exercise, and the use of equipment (such as a shinai or bamboo sword), carries inherent risks. These risks include, but are not limited to:

Bruises, sprains, and muscle strains.
Cuts and abrasions.
More serious injuries, such as broken bones, concussions, or other head injuries.
Injuries resulting from equipment failure, slips and falls, or contact with other participants.

2. Hybrid Course Environment (In-Person and Online)

I understand that this is a hybrid course involving both in-person and online training.

For in-person sessions: I will be physically present and interacting with instructors and other participants, and I accept the risks associated with this environment.
For online sessions: I will be participating from a remote location (e.g., my home). I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to ensure my training space is safe, clear of hazards, and suitable for physical activity. I understand that direct supervision is limited during online sessions, and I agree to follow all instructions to the best of my ability.

3. Assumption of Risk and Responsibility

Having been informed of the potential risks, I knowingly and voluntarily assume all responsibility for any and all injuries, damages, or losses I may sustain as a result of my participation in the Course, whether caused by the negligence of instructors, other participants, or otherwise.

4. Health and Fitness Declaration

I confirm that I am in good physical health and have no medical conditions that would prevent my full and safe participation in this Course. I agree to inform an instructor immediately if I feel unwell or experience any pain or injury during a session.

5. Release of Liability

In consideration for being permitted to participate in the Course, I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, and my personal representatives, hereby release, waive, and discharge the Course organizers, instructors, volunteers, and facility owners from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me while participating in the Course.
