ESEA (Title I) & E-Rate Income Eligibility
WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

All students at SUSD are receiving free meals due to the Community Eligibility Provision which is part of the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. This provision allows eligible school districts to provide breakfast and lunch to all enrolled students at no cost.

However, not collecting meal applications impacts the funding for other programs such as the district’s Title I and E-Rate funding. To ensure that the district continues to receive full funding from these grants, SUSD is required to collect income information from ALL HOUSEHOLDS through a survey. The data collected will be used to help us continue to qualify for hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal programs. SUSD needs data from EVERY HOUSEHOLD. This funding affects not only the equipment and services we purchase but also the number of personnel we can keep employed to help students.

This data will simply prove how many of our families “would” qualify to receive free or reduced meals if everyone wasn’t free this year. We need to collect the survey data FOR EVERY STUDENT IN SUSD.
